We’ve all heard of the term “Suga Daddy” and I’m pretty sure there’s someone that comes to mind when you think of it. Now a days “Cougar” is the new term for women but the practice of older women wanting and getting younger men has gone on for ages. Which one of these terms is more acceptable today in our wide open society? For me “Suga Daddy” means an older, mature, established, seasoned gentleman taking care of a younger woman and in return he receives a huge lift in his ego if you follow me. “Cougars” might shower the younger men with gifts or might not. The younger man isn’t looking for that but would except it if given. He knows what his role and job is and is very happy to perform his job. I could be wrong and no I’m not talking from experience!(shhhhhh lol) Comments? What do you think?

It’s still in a lot of ways hard to believe that Michael Jackson is no longer in the physical world with the rest of us. In his 50 years on this earth however, he didn’t waste a  minute of his God-given talent to entertain us, and in many ways, inspire us with his music. Everytime I see one of his music videos, I still sit in awe and wonder, how in the world was he able to perform some of those electrifying dance moves, especially in the video, “Smooth Criminal” when he did that now infamous lean in the dance sequence. Just recently with my TJMS family, Tom(Joyner) shared during the Little Known Black History Fact, that Michael used ’special’ shoes, along with wires, magnets and a special harness to accomplish such a feat…and even more amazing that Michael received a patent in the United States in 1993  for what is known as the anti gravity lean.

As a radio personality one of the best parts of my job is to interview artist from all musical genres, but sadly I never had the opportunity to talk to Michael Jackson. On what would have been his 51st birthday on August 29, 2009, I have often wondered what questions do you ask, given Michael had been asked sooo many in the past. I would like to think of that type of interview as being one where Micheal would feel the most comfortable just being himself, and maybe to ask something or say something that would have made him laugh, and take his mind off the public scrunity he endured during the final years of his life.

In closing if you had the opportunity to interview or just simply strike up a conversation with Michael Jackson, what would you ask and why? HAPPY BIRTHDAY MJ, WE LOVE YOU AND THANKS FOR THE GREAT MUSIC YOU LEAVE BEHIND…if only I could moonwalk in a way that would make you smile:)

The more I shop, whether it’s in the grocery store, the gas station, or the one stop, I find myself asking the question, “Whatever happened to customer service?” I’m in the customer service business myself, so I’d like to think I know of what I speak. While shopping at a store, which shall remain nameless, I was APALLED at the attitude of the person behind the counter. I was truly admiring one of the items in the shop. When I asked about it, the one nice person in the store kindly let me know that it was not for sale (it belonged to the person sitting behind the counter). Mind you, that was not the item I went in the store to purchase (I went in to purchase a t-shirt). When the nice lady was done informing me that the item was not for sale and I had moved a little further in the store, the person behind the counter very loudly stated, “When I leave, I’m taking that thing with me because I’m getting TIRED of people ASKING about it.” Saying nothing, I walked out of the store WITHOUT purchasing the t-shirt I initially went in for. How long would it take to take a little card with black block letters that reads, “DISPLAY ITEM ONLY”, and place it on the item so that people will “Stop asking you about it?” Then again, isn’t that why you’re there? I’m just saying……

I have recently discovered a new passion for exercise, and believe me trying to lose this weight ain’t easy!!!!It’s called Zumba, and it’s a Latin form of dance aerobics that has groups of us dancing to a whole new beat. I’ve been learning through several friends of mine who just happens to be  Zumba instructors at several gyms and YMCA  facilities here in the triad. The classes have been off the chain with as many as 80 people participating at one time, along with myself,  for an hour of sweat your butt off beats and moves, and color know no boundaries as Zumba can make even a person with two “left ” feet move like the next Beyonce or Janet Jackson! Have you too embarked on the Zumba craze? If so, what makes you love this  form of exercise, just as much, if not more than I do! Shout outs to all my Zumba buddies at the William G. White, Jr. YMCA in Winston-Salem:)

We have all hit some hard financial times in this recent economy, and even though we are slowly headed toward an upswing, many of our spending habits have drastically changed. What have you been doing to better prepare yourself and/or your family to survive these tough economic times?

We have lost some truly talented musical icons over the last decade alone- Michael Jackson, Isaac Hayes, Luther Vandross, Gerald Levert, Barry White, just to name a few. What artist of today do you think can fit these talented musical shoes, and why or why not!

As many of you are sports fans I’m really nuts over sports and really nuts when it comes to football. I was blessed to play some college football and still have a passion for the game. So when I watch football or broacast a football game I’m watching from a players point of view. I make my decisions and calls based on my football knowledge not my opinion. It’s easy to get caught up emotionally( Vick dog fighting) and usually when you do you put your foot in your mouth. That is your right but you lose credibility with people when you talk sports. To say Michael Vick will never play in the blood thirsty, money hungry, billion dollar grossing NFL is not based on football it’s based on personal feelings. I had a spirited conversation with my dad and older brothers who never played football I might add over this and they were on the other end along with the so called experts. What is the point? I’ll tell you…always think before you speak and let emotions be just that…emotions. Use them don’t let them use you unless you like the taste of your foot in your mouth. Oh yea Michael Vick signed a 2 year deal with Philly but remember he  was said to never play in the NFL again.

It’s the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock.  I know, most of us were just toddlers back in 1969, let alone, may not really remember a lot of the artists that performed on stage at the Woodstock festival BUT….we have indeed heard of one Jimi Hendrix, who was one of, if not THE best musician ever.  Check out the clip.
